SUPPORT OUR WORK
Why donate to AWR?
Objective, science-first approach
We are a strictly non-advocacy scientific organization. Our mission isn’t driven by political agendas or lobbying; it is driven entirely by data. By supporting AWR, you are funding rigorous, independent, and standardized field science. We focus on providing unbiased, high-quality ecological facts that wildlife managers, researchers, and communities can completely trust to make informed decisions.
Guardian of high elevation ecosystems
Alpine and backcountry environments are some of the most rapidly changing landscapes on earth, yet their remoteness makes them incredibly difficult and expensive to study. AWR specializes in bridging this gap. Your support funds the specialized equipment, technical field expertise, and rugged backcountry navigation required to monitor vulnerable mountain species and habitats that are otherwise left off the map.
Direct impact
When you donate to a massive national organization, your contribution often gets swallowed by administrative overhead, marketing budgets, and corporate layers. At AWR, we are lean, focused, and deeply rooted in our local ecosystems. Every dollar you invest goes directly into field operations, research equipment, and actionable wildlife monitoring—meaning your generosity has a visible, immediate impact on the ground.

As a lean, science-first organization, we maximize the impact of every single dollar. Your contributions go directly toward:
Field Research Equipment: Purchasing research-grade, non-invasive trail cameras, acoustic monitoring devices, rugged weather-proof security boxes, and high-capacity data storage.
Backcountry Logistics: Fuel, field safety gear, and the basic mapping tools required to safely deploy arrays in remote, high-elevation wilderness areas.
Data Processing: Managing secure data infrastructure and processing imagery through advanced wildlife analysis platforms to share with global and regional scientific repositories.

We love community enthusiasm for local wildlife science! Because our field research takes place in rugged, off-trail backcountry environments and requires strict adherence to standardized scientific protocols, our current field team consists of trained technicians with specific wilderness navigation and biological survey backgrounds.
However, as AWR grows, we plan to implement community science initiatives, local workshops, and data-triage opportunities. Please use our Contact Form to drop us a note with your background, and we will happily add you to our loop for future volunteer opportunities!

Yes, we highly value in-kind contributions! Because wildlife research requires highly specialized gear, we accept select equipment donations that meet our current field safety and research standards. Items we frequently need include:
New or excellent-condition research-grade trail cameras (e.g., Bushnell, Reconyx, Browning Trail Cameras).
New or used ARU’s (e.g., song meter SM5, song meter mini).
Heavy-duty security cables (Python locks) and weather-proof security lockboxes.
Premium AA lithium batteries and high-capacity SD cards (SanDisk Class 10 preferred).
Backcountry safety, navigation, or rugged outdoor gear.
If you have equipment you would like to donate, please reach out to us via our contact page with the item details so we can verify compatibility with our current project protocols!

Yes, we would be deeply honored to receive a tribute gift. Making a donation in honor or in memory of a loved one, a passionate outdoorsperson, or a fellow wildlife enthusiast is a meaningful way to leave a lasting legacy for wild spaces.
When making your contribution, simply let us know the name of the individual you are honoring and provide an email or mailing address if you would like us to send a courtesy acknowledgment to their family recognizing the tribute gift made in their name.
